Fall Fun

We recently attended my 20th High School reunion in Charleston, WV. It was great to be back home- I always love to chat with old friends!


Here is a photo of me (right) with friends from my Preschool and Grade School (Overbrook Elem.)




We attended a family picnic at The Tennis Club. Lydia (purple sweater) and her new friends surrounded Russell with attention.































My three kids and their cousin Barrett (center of leaf pile) played with my parents in the backyard of my childhood home. Mom and Dad have been there since 1976! And they are still making it better, as Dad just completed the pergola and basement patio ... great place to relax on a summer or fall evening.

Little Guys

Russell (right) enjoyed our summer North Topsail beach visit with the McCains- especially his dear Cousin Barrett (exactly 4 months older, shown on left). Barrett is expecting a baby brother or sister in 2009- yippee! My parents tell the story that when I was young, I couldn't say "Jenny" so I called myself "Yenny." Being very concrete, I corrected my Dad when he said I was cute: "Me not cute! Me Yenny!" I also did not easily accept being adorable, I would correct him: "Me not 'dorable! Me Yenny!!!" This must be a common kid thing, because Russell just said this to me when I asked him if he is happy: "Me not happy! Me a guy!"

News Stand Chair

Russell is a BUSY two-year-old. Here is how we found him when he wandered away from us and the Bishops at Moe's (he's sitting in the free newspaper stand).

Just a minute ago, he was jumping off the edge of the garden tub. Imagine that you are listening in on our conversation:

Jen: What you are doing is risky, mister
Russell: Oh.
(Russell climbs up and jumps again)
Jen: Do you care what I just said?
Russell: (With extra points for honesty) No.

We've Moved!
